American Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) and Multipurpose Response Vehicles (MRVs) are at the heart of our mission. Hundreds of response vehicles across the nation and 10 right here in the Texas Gulf Coast Region help us feed people impacted by disasters and deliver emergency supplies during relief operations. Red Cross ERVs and MRVs are symbols of hope to thousands of people each year, driving nearly 7,000 miles on average during relief operations. Outdoor Lamp
As we approach the holiday season and the end of 2023, the Red Cross is asking people to help us “Pack the ERV” – giving their financial support to prepare these vehicles for their next relief operations. During the week of Nov. 27–Dec. 1 (Nov. 28 is Giving Tuesday), we are planning opportunities to check out an ERV or MRV, hear from a local driver about the vehicles work and their experiences with them, and talk to a local Red Cross staff member about how to help people affected by disasters.
