Man beaten with glass bottle in Queens grocery store: NYPD

A man was pummeled with a glass bottle in a Queens grocery store, police said Tuesday.

The 31-year-old victim was shopping at L.I.C. Deli & Grocery on the corner of 39th Ave. and 29th St. in Astoria Sept. 14 when the stranger approached him around 5:05 p.m., cops said.

The attacker struck the man multiple times in the face with the bottle before running out of the store and eastbound across the avenue, they added.

Medics took the injured man to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable condition.

Police are still looking for the bottle-brandishing man and released an image of him Tuesday in the hopes someone may recognize him.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.

Last week, a man was arrested after he kicked off a wild assault spree outside a Bryant Park Whole Foods store, police said.

Armed with a glass bottle, Michael Howell, 33, struck a man and two women near the upscale midtown Manhattan grocery store on Sixth Ave. near 42nd St. around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, they added.

While cops made their way to the scene, Howell was on a Bronx-bound D train assaulting a third woman. He was charged with multiple counts of assault.

Howell is being held at Rikers Island pending his next court appearance.
